Check Your IES / ISS Eligibility
IES and ISS have the same age band but different degree and subject requirements; choose your main target for customised guidance.
IES/ISS typically require 21–30 years for General category, with relaxations for OBC, SC/ST and some other categories as per UPSC rules.
Age relaxation for IES/ISS generally follows central rules: OBC +3 years, SC/ST +5 years, PwBD up to +10 years over base limit.
IES requires a post‑graduate degree in Economics or related fields, while ISS requires a degree with Statistics/Mathematical Statistics/Applied Statistics as main or qualifying subject.
IES/ISS have category‑wise attempt limits similar to UPSC Civil Services: about 6 for General, 9 for OBC and no numeric cap for SC/ST, within age limits.
Candidates must be physically fit as per standards in the IES/ISS notification (Appendix‑style physical rules).
